From Iguassu Falls

The objective of this program is to give through different leisure activities and knowledge awareness the possibilities of development without destruction in the Amazon Ecosystem, showing different aspects of Nature in Brazil.

Day 1 – Thu – Iguassu Falls
Arrival in Iguassu Falls and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free.
 

Day 2 – Frid – Iguassu Falls
In the morning departure to visit one of the wonders of the world: the Iguassu Falls from the Brazilian side. Return to the hotel.
Optional: Argentinean Falls, Dinner and 3 Frontiers Typical Show.
 

Day 3 – Sat – Iguassu Falls/ Cuiabá
Morning free. At schedule hour, transfer to the airport. Flight to Cuiabá. Arrival in Cuiabá late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 4 – Sun – Cuiabá/ Alta Floresta
Short City Tour ending at the airport to take the midday flight to Alta Floresta. Arrival in Alta Floresta, welcome drink at the Hotel Floresta Amazônica. Transfer to the Cristalino Jungle lodge. Accommodation, dinner, slide show of the local fauna and flora. Library and maps available. 
 

Day 5 – Mon – Alta Floresta
Early wake up to observe the awakening of the forest in our 50 m canopy tower. Breakfast. Motor boat up river, walk the Brazil Nut Trail. Float down river with boat engines switched off or canoeing. Wildlife viewing. Swimming along the river, by the floating deck or by the rapids. Lunch. Opportunity to choose between walking the "Rocky" trail to the Tree House, or participate in supervised ropes and rappel activities (including a course). Dinner by campfire. Night caiman spotting by the floating deck or in motor boats. Observation of nocturnal life of the forest. 
 

Day 6 – Tue – Alta Floresta
Canopy tower before breakfast. Walk the Caja Trail. Swimming before lunch. Lunch. Motor boat up river, hiking the Serra Trail and watching the sunset. Candlelight farewell dinner by the campfire. 
 

Day 7 – Wed – Alta Floresta – Cuiabá
Breakfast. Transfer to Alta Floresta, lunch at the Floresta Amazonica Hotel and transfer to the airport.  Arrival and flight to Manaus. Arrival and transfer to the hotel for the overnight.
 

Day 8 – Thu – Manaus/ Cruise
Morning free. Board the M/V Desafio by the docks. Beginning of the cruise with a view of the city from the Amazon River and the famous Meeting of the Waters of Solimões River and Negro River, thus forming the Amazon River and not mixing for several kilometers. Continuation. Reconnaissance tour in motorized canoes. Back to the boat for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 - Fri - Cruise
After an early breakfast, excursion by boat to reach land. Walking tour in the forest. Return and lunch on board. Afternoon free. Dinner. Night canoe trip to listen to the night sounds of the forest. Overnight.

Day 10 – Sat - Cruise
Breakfast on board. Visit to typical village of the area where the locals manufacture manioc flour. Lunch on board as we sail to the area of the famous Piranha fish. Departure for Piranha fishing. For those who desire can learn to prepare the well known brew called “caldo de Piranha” which is considered aphrodisiac by the locals. Dinner on board. Night excursion by canoe to spot alligators with flashlights. Overnight.
 

Day 11 – Sun – Cruise / Manaus / Rio de Janeiro
Early morning to admire the sunrise in the forest. Return to the boat. Breakfast during navigation towards Manaus. Arrival at Manaus pier and transfer to the airport. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to the hotel.

Day 12 – Mon – Rio de Janeiro
In the morning departure to the City Tour, visiting some points of interest downtown, its monuments and parks. Return to the hotel. Rest of day free.
 

Day 13 – Tue – Rio de Janeiro
Day at leisure or optional tours: Corcovado, Sugar Loaf, Rio by Night.
 

Day 14 – Wed – Rio de Janeiro
At time to be decided, transfer to the airport.

Rainy season in the Amazon is from December to March
